MUSE BLOG – MAY

Hello May! Wow you have come around quick, and so far with lots of lovely sun – so thanks for that! Much appreciated especially on the first May bank holiday, we had a great time here at Muse. We have lots of exciting events coming up this month! Summer is well underway now and we are celebrating in style.

First up is the village favourite – Whit Friday! A classic event celebrating the Morris Dancers and the Brass Bands contest. We will be celebrating all day, with breakfast sandwiches in the morning and a Camden Ale beer stand in the afternoon, followed by our resident DJ Josh Mellor in the evening. Let’s just hope the weather stays amazing for it, eh?

The following day is when the real fun begins! This year Muse is celebrating its 2nd birthday, it’s gone so quick, we can’t believe it! So we’ve decided to throw a party for you guys. Join us from 1pm-6pm on Saturday 26th May, just £3 a ticket, for games and raffle prizes including gin hampers and hair and beauty coupons, food, delicious drinks and canapes, live music throughout the day from Uppermill fav, Morgan, and then a DJ set from 7pm to finish the day off! The best part about it all is that all proceeds from ticket sales are going to Key 103 Cash for Kids, so come down and celebrate with us, it’s all for a good cause!

At the beginning of June we are also hosting our very first Gin Tasting event! We are partnering up with Divine Gin, a delicious local gin distilled in Holmfirth, for an evening filled to the brim with gin! You will learn about the different tasting notes and what tonics go with what gin, and also a little about the history of the spirit. The tickets for this event sold out like wildfire, but we are arranging another evening as soon as we can for you guys since this one has done so well. What else would you like to see from Muse? Would you guys like to see more events like this? Let us know!

Sadly, at the end of this month we are losing our talented head chef Paul Cookson, as he moves his career on to something new. Although we are gutted to see him leave, as his delicious food and menus are praised by many, we wish him the best of luck with everything to come and of course a massive thank you for everything he has done for Muse! But when a door closes, a window opens, so we are delighted to welcome our new head chef, John Ward, from the highly ranked restaurant Victors, in Hale. We can’t wait to see what John will bring to the table (pun intended!) Stayed tuned for an interview with him coming your way soon.

That’s all for the May blog folks! As always you can follow us on social media to keep up to date with everything happening at Muse. See you next time!
